A very beautiful highly detailed, (Excitation wavelength-dependent photoluminescence of single-component materials appears as a rare intriguing phenomenon that encompasses both fundamental and application interests. The most promising strategy towards excitation-dependent systems is based on the design of compounds displaying a multi-band emission. We designed and synthesized novel phenylbenzothiazole derivatives that behave as single-component excitation wavelength- dependent emitters: they reveal two emission bands whose intensity ratio changes upon variation of the excitation wavelength. These bands cover the entire visible region, opening up the freedom to vary the glowing color from green through white to blue. Such unusual properties arise from the peculiar structure of the compounds, which allows for the existence of a number of excited states: locally excited, charge transfer, and intramolecular proton transfer states. Importantly, the emission has a phosphorescent nature at room temperature, which opens prospects for the design of phosphorescent OLEDs:1.3), by Richard Anderson and mark keathley, fantasy concept art, fantasy art, epic fantasy card game art, full art illustration, trending on Artstation | Fantasy
